It is SO amazing to finally be able to hold your baby in your arms and enjoy this new stage of life, but holey moley what a HUGE thing to recover from! Your body has just given birth to a BABY and it is completely normal to be sore as you recover and heal.

A relaxing sitz soak or bath with Epsom salts can help you recover and heal both emotionally and physically after birth. 

What is a Sitz Soak?

A sitz soak can help with the natural healing and recovery process. A sitz bath is a pool of water that you sit in, with only your hips and bottom submerged. You can buy special sitz tubs for this purpose, or you can use a bath tub and just fill to your hips with warm water.

Whatever you use, always remember to thoroughly clean it before use to remove any bacteria and reduce the likelihood of infection.

Epsom Salts are perfect for Sitz Baths

We love this soothing blend of 100% Natural Bath Salts. It is designed to help you with healing for post partum or for hemorrhoid relief using Natural Epsom Salts, combined with soothing essential oils of chamomile and lavender to help with calming and uplifting your mood as you recover from birth and adjust to this new stage in life.

How to Use

Always thoroughly clean your bath before using to remove any bacteria and help avoid infections if you have any wounds. Bacteria love warm moist environments!

Bath Soak - Pour the desired amount (we recommend 200g or a small cup) into a warm (not hot!) bath, and soak for 15 to 20 minutes. We love to create a spa at home with some relaxing music and candle light.

Sitz Soak - Pour the desired amount (we recommend 100g or a small half cup) into warm (not hot) hip deep water.

If you have an open wound it may sting a little to start with but that should subside fairly quickly. If discomfort continues we recommend seeing your health professional to get the area checked out.

Look after yourself mama

When you are pregnant it is important not to overheat or dehydrate. We recommend drinking cool water prior to soaking, and always keep the bath warm but not too hot. It is also a good idea to have assistance to get out of the bath towards the end of your pregnancy if you feel you need it.

Please always check with your health provider before having a bath if you have a high risk pregnancy or have a history of blood pressure issues
