These are delicious Lactation Cookies with Dark Chocolate Chips to help support breastfeeding mums. Developed by breastfeeding mum and chef, Jesse, founder of Totally Devoted, these breastfeeding cookies made with a unique selection of natural herbs and wholesome ingredients that may help support lactation for breastfeeding mums. The key galactagogues (lactation promoting ingredients) in this recipe are Fenugreek and Fennel which have been traditionally used for many years as a herbal remedy to encourage healthy lactation. They may stimulate milk flow and are also reputed to counteract infant colic.

Jesse designed these cookies because her own baby was intolerant of dairy and wheat, so she needed a healthy snack she could eat that wouldn't cause problems for her breastfed bub. Jesse started Totally Devoted to help provide preservative, wheat and dairy free lactation cookies for other busy mums.

Each box contains 10 cookies, with each cookie being a serving size of approximately 23g.

Kate G. (Dietician) says: “Your lactation cookies tasted great! Not too sweet, but a nice treat which was easy to eat 3 a day without feeling sickly. I’ve had a noticeable difference in milk supply after only one week!”

Why we love Totally Devoted Lactation Cookies

We love supporting family run businesses! Totally Devoted was founded and is run by Jesse Wilson to help with eczema/allergy problems, and to provide mums with the best possible combination of wholesome ingredients to help improve milk supply and overall health.

How many Lactation Cookies should I have a day to improve my milk supply?

We suggest that if you are having problems with lactation you have three a day for the first few days and then one a day should be sufficient. This should be done in combination with all the other advice your health practitioner has given you such as regular feedings from both breasts and the use of a breast pump.

** If you are concerned about your breast milk supply or your baby’s health, always seek help from a health care provider first. Lactation consultants, breastfeeding counsellors, specialist nurses like child health nurses or doctors can also help with any breastfeeding questions or concerns you may have. The Australian Breastfeeding Association is also a great resource for information and support.

Organic buckwheat flour, coconut oil, brown rice syrup, organic coconut sugar, rolled oats, linseed, filtered water, organic dark chocolate, cinnamon, baking soda, raising agent (500), Himalayan salt, fennel, fenugreek, natural rosemary extract.

Choc Chip Lactation Cookies contain a wholesome mix of oats, linseeds, coconut oil, buckwheat flour and cinnamon to help support your breastfeeding journey.

Oats provide dietary fibre to help relieve constipation, which is very helpful for a lot of pregnant women. It’s a good source of essential vitamins such as thiamine, folic acid, biotin and vitamin e. Oats also have a low glycemic index which means they may help you have longer lasting energy!

Linseeds contain omega 3 essential fatty acids which may help prevent excess biochemicals that the body produces under stress, making it great for busy parents.

Coconut oil is dairy and wheat free. It contains lauric acid which is a medium chain fatty acid. Mothers’ milk also contains lauric acid so how great is that for a lactation cookie! It’s also reputed to be antifungal, antiviral and anti microbial. Another great attribute for a breastfeeding mother and it’s great for your hair and skin as well.

Buckwheat flour is high in b vitamins, lysine, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, zinc and cooper. It’s also high in fibre. It contains the eight essential amino acids. It’s a rich supply of flavonoids and best of all its gluten free!

These cookies were delicious and a larger size and less dense than other brands of lactation cookies. I loved the hint of cinnamon and choc chips but they weren’t too sweet.

    Good taste

It tastes surprisingly good. It is quite addictive too and too sad that I can only have three per day. My breastmilk did increase a bit after I had it.

I love this cookies!! I had to hide them from my husband so he didn't eat them all!! Loved sitting down after putting Bub to sleep with my breastfeeding tea and two of these beauties. I've noticed a jump in supply aswell which is awesome as it has dropped down at night which wasn't helping my case with a cluster feeding baby who was getting very fustrated with the lack of flow. Just orders my second batch which I'm sure will be here just as quick as the first order! Love this site!

These were delishious. Not just for me but for the whole family. I have been eating them along with the macadamia and white choc cookies and a lactation hot choc of a night time and noticed an increase after about 2 days.
